A follow-on to our successful and popular 2014 event that featured the pictographic maps of Jo Mora. This time we turn to a famous English pictorial mapmaker, MacDonald Gill. The exhibit features 9 of his iconic pictographic maps on British and Colonial subjects.
And just to keep things even more interesting we will add the works of some others, famous and unknown. For example, we have two works by "Mr Air France" Lucien Boucher, whose posters for the French airline are sought after by collectors of all interests. Additionally work by the American pictographic artists, Ruth Taylor White and Jo Mora is on display. Finally, there is a fascinating map of the Coachella Valley in Southern California by a resident of Indio, California, the little-known Dolores d'Ambly.
